We attend many workshops throughout the year with the school. Last year, I attended OERB (science PD), and we attend Great Expectations every two years.
I am in my sixth year teaching at Pleasant Grove. My previous years at PG were spent teaching Pre-K (3 years), 4th grade, and this is my second year teaching 1st grade. Looking forward to a wonderful year!
I started teaching in 2009 at Seminole. I then took time off from full-time teaching to pursue my Master’s Degree, but substituted in the Shawnee School district while going to school. Since completing my Master’s I have taught at Ardmore City Schools, Little Axe, and McLoud. Prior to teaching PreK, I have taught Kindergarten and 4th grade. I have since taught first grade and am now teaching 1st grade.
I am a single mom to 3 amazing children. My oldest (son) recently completed his Associate’s degree at Seminole State College. My middle child (daughter) works full time. My youngest (daughter) is a junior at Shawnee High School. We have one dog named Sugar.
My hobbies are going to the movies, reading, camping during the summer & spending time with my family and friends. These are generally the things I do when I am not in the classroom—besides for working on how to better myself in the classroom & completing lesson plans. Reading is probably my favorite thing to do outside of the classroom—I can read a 300-500 page book in a single day!
